Experience:
- All categories cost 1000 XP. All major and minor spells cost 100 XP for
the first level, 500 for the second, and 1000 for the third. (Higher
levels will cost more, but how much, I am not sure, probably 1500 for
fourth).
- Characters get experience for opponents defeated, objectives achieved,
and some non-weapon skill successes. Characters can save XP as long as
they want, or spend XP to get new skills or go up in a skill. XP gained
from any action can be spent on any skill. This does mean that a
character could get XP from successfully imbuing leather armor with
ergeonite and spend it on buying a local geography skill. While this may
not seem reasonable, I decided not to worry about it.
- As listed in the Skills section, ability scores modify the cost of buying
new skills. For example, Alpha has a strength of 17 and a constitution of
16, so buying first level in short sword would cost 100 – .02*(17-12) +
.02*(16-12) = 82 XP.
